All instruments, theoretically, are made to mimic the voice because it’s the first instrument ever created. Creatures of all sorts sing all around us every day. Although we each have our own voice, there are key elements that allow us to fully embody our own unique sound. We explore breathing and projection techniques, extend high and low pitch ranges, and how to tell a story by phrasing rather than just singing notes and words.
With each voice as different as the next, it’s amazing how students’ unique voices gravitate their taste in music. Religious, pop, opera, R&B, rock, jazz, and all cultural music can be explored by our singers by applying the key elements.
